FAQs

  • Historically, Salons were hosted by prominent, educated women in their private homes starting in around the 15th century. The salonniere—the woman—did all of the inviting and curated the evening of conversation, art and music.

It was rare for a woman to be both in control and have some freedom of expression in the male-dominated world, and be at the epicenter of the exchange of important ideas.

With societal shifts, Salons evolved. In the 18th century, people from different economic classes would get together and exchange ideas openly in the safe setting of the Salon.

  • Please wear whatever you're most comfortable in and represents you best. If we had to put a term to the vibe, it's "cocktail casual!"

  • Due to the expenses that go into hosting the Salon, we are unable to provide a refund. However, you may nominate a replacement and, if approved by Hacker in Heels, that person can attend in your place.

It will be your responsibility to recoup your cost from the person who attends in your place.
